Tale of Two Cities. Series Producer.
I produced a series of three events exploring gentrification in the city taking place at Goldsmiths University; Bush Hall & Rich Mix: representing different corners of the city and in particular areas undergoing rapid gentrification.
A collaboration between Decolonising Our Minds and Take Back The City, Tale of Two Cities brought together young artists from across London to share their stories of the city. We celebrate art as the expression of resistance, but also art as the opportunity for respite and healing.
Performers included Big Zuu, Caleb Femi, Lex Amor and Mad Professor.
Co-Curators: Zahra Delilah and Zain Dada

I Am Not De Problem. Producer.
Violent gang members or disaffected non-voters: young people are represented as a problem and drain to society. I developed a programme named after Benjamin Zephaniah’s poem “I Am Not De Problem” where young people produced original films responding to issues affecting them.
Three original films were developed by first-time young filmmakers in the process, exploring themes of immigration, police brutality and experiences of people of colour in secondary education.
Works produced were screened at Mosaic Rooms and SOAS. We hosted two debates called: Does Britain Care About Young People? which used the films as prompts for discussion. Panels were a mixture of young people affected by thee subject matter and also professionals that work with young people.
